A Special Message From Jack Rankin

    Jack Rankin - 1972
As many of you know, former SMHS Assistant Principal Jack Rankin was our honored guest at the Saturday night (July 28, 2012) Reunion event at the San Gabriel Country Club.  Mr. Rankin was always fair and firm.  He wanted to pass on the following message to the SMHS Class of 1972:

What a great 40th reunion!  I am sending this brief note to say thank you!  I felt honored to be invited and remembered - at my age, it is especially appreciated.  I still treasure my 10 years at San Marino!

It is always a special time for educators to see student  growth from entrance to graduation to the most important time; that of being in the world of college; jobs; families; achievements; and following up to find out that perhaps you made a small impact upon the lives of "a few."

I am sorry I didn't get around to see everyone but just wanted to let it be known of the pride I felt in talking with so many and finding that my years at SM were indeed well-spent and the results exactly as predicted for SM grads .... THE BEST!

Thank you and continued success to whatever lies ahead for each of you!

    Jack Rankin
    Proud Assistant Principal 1969-72/Principal 1972-79
